The OCAD U Student/Alumni Job Board has been operational since Winter 2006. It is a highly successful bridge between OCAD U students, alumni, and the external community. Career Services offers this and several other services to enhance the educational experience of OCAD U students.
Though employers would not think to ask an electrician or carpenter to work for nothing, it often is taken for granted that artists and designers will do just about anything - including building complete web sites or branding products - solely for the purposes of enhancing their portfolios. Not so. Artists and designers also must eat and pay for housing. Artists and designers are highly skilled, and valued contributors to healthy economies.
